Road & Track magazine is moving its headquarters from Newport Beach, Calif., to joint sister buff book Car and Driver in Ann Arbor, Mich. Both magazines are owned by Hearst Communications Inc.

Ann Arbor also is home for Source Interlink Media's Automobile magazine, which was launched in 1986 by the late David E. Davis, a former writer at R&T and two-time editor of CD. Source Interlink also owns Motor Trend, which is based in California.

R&T's relocation coincides with the arrival of Larry Webster as editor-in-chief last week. Webster, an Ann Arbor resident, succeeds Matt DeLorenzo, who continues as an advisor to the magazine. Hearst says the R&T move will be completed late this year.
