Volkswagen AG has no plans for an initial public offering for its commercial truck until 2019 or later, says Germany’s Manager Magazin, which cites unnamed senior VW executives.
Analysts have speculated that the company might float an IPO next year to help expand the unit, which comprises MAN, Scania and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.
But Manager’s sources say it will take at least two years to disentangle the complexities of the MAN and Scania acquisitions. They note that MAN still holds almost 20% of the voting rights in Scania, for example. The magazine adds that the companies also have subsidiaries unrelated to the core commercial truck business that may need to be sold or liquidated before an IPO.
