The average number of new vehicles sold per U.S. dealership will shrink for the third consecutive year in 2018, predicts Urban Science Inc.
The average number of new vehicles sold per U.S. dealership will shrink for the third consecutive year in 2018, predicts Urban Science Inc.
The Detroit-based market analysis firm expects the average volume will decline to 936 vehicles from 947 in 2017. The number of dealer stores in the U.S. expanded by 35 to 18,252 through the first half of 2018. But Urban Science says the count showed virtually no net change in 98% of the country’s markets.
The firm says the American dealership network has set a “new normal pattern of stability” since it began in 2010 to recover from the Great Recession.
