Renault SA predicts its new Kadjar small crossover vehicle will become a top-selling model in the compact SUV market, thanks to its "fluid" styling and relatively rich content.

Renault will publicly unveil the Kadjar, its first C-segment model, next month at the Geneva auto show. Sales will begin in Europe in June.

The company targets sales of 118,000 units in 2016, which would rank the vehicle third among compact crossovers Europe's fastest-growing segment after the Nissan Qashquai and Volkswagen Tiguan.

The front-drive Kadjar shares its platform with the Qashqai. Renault will supply European versions of the car from its factory in Palencia, Spain. The company plans to build a Chinese edition beginning next year at its new factory in Wuhan.

The Kadjar will join the larger Captur and Koleos crossovers in Renault's model lineup.
