Vehicle deliveries by the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance grew 5% in the first half of 2018 to 5.54 million units to outsell all rivals.

The group's total consists of 2.07 million units by Renault, 2.85 million by Nissan and 616,000 by Mitsubishi, according to company reports.

The group’s volume for the period compares with record sales for Volkswagen Group (+7% to 5.52 million units) and Toyota-Daihatsu-Hino (+2% to 5.51 million).

General Motors Co. was a distant fourth with worldwide sales of 4.16 million units, down 11%. Hyundai-Kia ranked fifth with sales of 3.59 million cars in January-June.
