Renault SA’s increased its revenue 25% to €13.1 billion ($14.3 billion) in the first quarter as worldwide unit sales climbed 16% to 873,700 units.
The company posted registration gains in all regional markets, including a 10% increase in Europe. The company’s Dacia and Renault brands set sales records for the period.
Revenue from automotive operations (excluding the contribution of Renault’s stake in AvtoVAZ) climbed 20% to €11.9 billion ($12.9 billion) in January-March. Results were bolstered by a sharp increase in kit assembly in China and Iran.
Renault forecasts full-year improvements in its revenue and operating profit. The company says increases will be aided by overall market growth in Europe (+2%), China (+5%), India (+8%) and Russia (+5%).
