Chinese carmaker Qoros plans to unveil its first SUV this week at the Guangzhou auto show.
The company, a venture between Chery Automobile Co. and Tel Avivi-based Israel Corp., already markets a small sedan and small hatchback. The compact SUV, called 3 City, will debut in China next year.
Qoros plans to offer all three models in eastern Europe next year. The company began selling the Qoros 3 hatch in Slovakia in 2013. In June it told Automotive News Europe it would enter other eastern European and Nordic countries in 2015. It aims to move into western Europe in 2016.
The venture plans to add a larger SUV and wagon to its lineup to help attract customers in Europe. The company operates a new factory in Shanghai with initial annual capacity to make 150,000 vehicles. The facility's output could be doubled if demand becomes strong enough.
