PSA Group says it will phase out three Opel small cars—the Adam and Karl minicars and Cascada compact convertible—next year.

The move aims to simplify and refocus Opel’s lineup from cars to stronger-selling crossovers. The brand aims to boost the proportion of its sales represented by SUV/crossovers from 25% today to 40% by 2021.

Next year Opel intends to roll out next-generation versions of its Vivaro commercial van and the Vivaro’s nine-passenger Combi minibus variant. The brand also will debut the Grandland X plug-in hybrid crossover and an all-electric version of its Corsa supermini.

In 2020, Opel will add the next-generation version of its hot-selling Mokka X small crossover, which currently is sold in the U.S. as the Buick Encore.
