PSA Peugeot Citroen, energized by strong financial results in 2015, says it is again ready to discuss partnering with other carmakers. Declares CEO Carlos Tavares, “We are open to all the opportunities.”
PSA’s bullish outlook reflects its successful two-year turnaround. The company was near bankruptcy in 2014. But last year it exceeded its financial targets and reversed a year-earlier loss with a net profit of €1.2 billion ($1.3 billion).
Tavares says the company is not in serious talks with any other carmakers yet. But Chief Financial Officer Jean-Baptiste de Chatillon tells the Financial Times, “We are very open to discuss and to grow with external opportunities.”
