CEO Carlos Tavares says PSA Group intends to return to the North American market in a 10-year process that will begin with mobility services developed through partnerships with such providers.

Tavares tells reporters at the Paris auto show that providing mobility options will help PSA learn more about changes in North American consumer tastes since it departed that market in 1991.

The first vehicles PSA introduces will be for car-sharing fleets, Tavares says. The company announced in September it is partnering with French conglomerate Bollore Group in a car-share service for Los Angeles.

PSA's final step will be to distribute vehicles for the North American retail market. Tavares adds that details of how those vehicles are sold aren’t yet clear because in a decade “many things will have changed.”
