Malaysia's struggling Proton Holdings Bhd has agree to help Indonesia launch its own government-backed car, The Nikkei reports.
Proton and Indonesia's Adiperkasa Citra Lestari have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on the project. Indonesia, which expects to complete a feasibility study in six months, says Proton's role would be to help develop and train a workforce for the car.
If the project is successful, both companies would market the car throughout southeast Asia.
