Volkswagen AG is recalling 409,500 Porsche Cayenne and 391,000 VW Touareg SUV/crossovers to check for loose control pedals.
The campaign for both models covers vehicles built between 2011 and 2016.
VW has offered few details about the flaw. But it says dealers will check to see if a clip is loose or missing in the assembly that attaches the foot pedals to the vehicle. In an extreme case, the mechanism could make one or more pedals difficult or impossible to operate.
