Porsche Names New U.S. Chief

Porsche AG has named Klaus Zellmer as president and CEO of its North American unit, effective Nov. 1.

Zellmer, 48, currently heads the company’s emerging-markets activities in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and South America. He succeeds Detlev von Platen, his new boss, who has been promoted to head of Porsche global sales and marketing.

Porsche operations in North America are enjoying 11% sales growth this year, including a 23% jump in September.
