Porsche AG is likely to put its all-electric Mission E Cross Turismo concept into production “very soon,” says CEO Oliver Blume.
The company unveiled the low-slung crossover (pictured) at the Geneva auto show earlier this week. The model, which Porsche calls a “road-ready” design, is a variant of the Mission E crossover, which will go on sale in 2019. Both vehicles will share Porsche’s “J1” platform and use an 800-volt quick-charge system.
One executive tells Automotive News Europe that a production version of the slope-roof four-door Turismo could debut in about 2021.
The E Cross concept uses two electric motors to generate a combined 591 hp. The car can zip from zero to 100 kph in less than 3.5 seconds and drive 500 km (300 miles) on a charge under the NEDC test procedure.
