Pininfarina SpA posted net earnings of €33 million last year compared to a €12 million loss in 2011, marking the company's first profit since 2004.

The Milan-based automotive design firm's 2012 income benefited from a €45 million one-time gain and debt restructuring last May that lowered interest payments. Pininfarina revenue climbed 13% to €70 million last year, thanks in part to new business in Germany and Italy.
