Panasonic Acquires German Software Company OpenSynergy
Panasonic Corp. says it has purchased OpenSynergy GmbH, a German developer of vehicular software.

Panasonic says the acquisition will help it develop advanced driving assistance systems, new safety features and autonomous driving technologies.
OpenSynergy’s products enable carmakers to coordinate multiple operating systems within the vehicle. The capability allows the integration of a car’s instrument cluster, driver assistance and connectivity systems, according to the companies.
Panasonic says the German company will continue to operate as an independent business under the new ownership. OpenSynergy also offers developers its COQOS modular software development kit and markets its Blue development kit of Bluetooth features.
