Confidence in Germany’s economy rose again this month, although at a slower pace, according to the ZEW Indicator of Economic Sentiment.

Confidence in Germany’s economy rose again this month, although at a slower pace, according to the ZEW Indicator of Economic Sentiment.
The closely watched index, which tracks sentiment about the economy six months from now, climbed to 17.6 points, up from 17.0 in September but below the long-term average of 23.8.
ZEW (the Center for European Economic Research) says the financial market experts it polls base their optimism on data that shows expanding production and growth in new orders. A separate index of sentiment about the eurozone overall gained 1 point for the short-term outlook but dropped 5 points for conditions six months from now.
