The $15,000 two-door hatchback, which measures slightly more than 12 feet long and 5.5 feet wide, seats four. Opel debuted the car on Thursday at the Paris auto show.
The stylish little car offers three four-cylinder gasoline engine options: a 1.2-liter powerplant that makes 70 hp and 1.4-liter engines producing 87 hp or 100 hp. All powertrains include a five-speed manual transmission and automatic stop-start system.
Opel plans to add a more contemporary direct-injection, turbocharged engine and six-speed manual transmission at an unspecified later date.
Exterior options include LED headlamps and tail lamps, custom bumpers, spoilers, integrated rear bicycle holder, several roof colors and an array of 31 wheel choices in 14-, 15-, 16-, 17- and 18-inch diameters. Customers can further customize their wheels with clip-on color inserts.
Inside, an optional "starlight" headliner contains more than 60 small LEDs. Buyers also can choose headliners adorned with printed clouds, autumn leaves or a checkerboard. An ambient lighting package allows users to dial up any of seven colors.
Among other options are heated seats and steering wheel, rain-sensitive wipers, hill assist, "IntelliLink" infotainment system with 7-inch touch screen, automatic park assist and 20 door and dashboard decorative panel choices including two that are backlit by LEDs.
