The Nissan Skyline was named the most iconic Japanese car by an online poll conducted by the organizers of the upcoming Japanese Fest car show in the U.K.

The Skyline edged out the Toyota Supra and Subaru Impreza WRX, which finished second and third, respectively, in the voting.

Launched in 1957, the Skyline has gone through several body styles and sizes over the years. The Skyline GT-R sports car was immortalized in the Gran Turismo video game and Fast & Furious movies.

Organizers of the annual car show note that Skyline helped kick start the Japanese tuning craze in the U.K. in the 1990s. Some 3,500 vehicles are scheduled to be displayed at this year’s event, which will be held at Rockingham Speedway in June.

The original Skyline was penned by legendary designer Shinichiro Sakurai for Prince Motor Co., which merged with Nissan in 1966.
