Photos of the 2019 model show an updated front end, including LED headlights and a more aggressive V-shaped grille. Nissan’s Safety Shield 360 package (automatic emergency braking, blind spot warning, rear cross traffic alert, lane departure warning and automatic high beam headlights) is being added as an option.
Nissan has provided no information about the car’s interior or engine. In the current Maxima, the powertrain consists of a 300-hp 3.0-liter V-6 and continuously variable transmission.
The new car will be publicly unveiled next month at the Los Angeles auto show and is due to arrive at U.S. dealerships in December. Nissan launched the current generation Maxima in 2016.
