Nissan Motor Co. has discontinued its slow-selling Juke mini-crossover vehicle in the U.S. after demand plummeted 48% to only 10,200 units last year.
Nissan touted the provocatively styled Juke as a “sports car crossover” when the vehicle was introduced in 2010. Aimed at young, single men, the car has been popular in several markets. But annual sales in the U.S. peaked at only 38,200 in 2012 and 2013 before skidding.
The Juke is being replaced in the U.S. this autumn by a slightly larger and more conventionally styled crossover called the Nissan Kicks.
