Nissan Motor Co. is discontinuing its Formula One World Endurance Championship (WEC) racing programs after a single season.

The company had suspended the program in August to fix issues with the hybrid-electric system that plagued the performance of the team’s GT-R LM race cars at this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans race—the only event Nissan participated in this year. Only one of the three factory cars Nissan entered at Le Man finished the race, and none of them ran with its hybrid systems fully functioning.

Nissan says it will continue to participate in WEC as an engine supplier. The company also participates in Super GT racing in Japan.
