Nissan Motor Co. intends to boost its global sales of commercial vehicles to 2 million units by the fiscal year ending in March 2017 from 1.1 million in the previous 12-month period, The Nikkei reports.

To support that goal, the company will build its NV200 van in India, Indonesia, Mexico and three other locations.

When Nissan unveiled its "Power 88" business plan last June, the company predicted it would be the world's largest maker of light-duty commercial vehicles by 2016. It offered no details at that time.
