NHTSA Probes Sudden Power Steering Loss in Honda Accords

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened a preliminary evaluation into 24 complaints of sudden loss of electric power steering in 2013 model Honda Accord cars.

The target population includes about 374,000 vehicles in the U.S.

NHTSA says some owners report the problem disappears when the car is restarted, but they say the condition then returns. Four owners reported crashes at speeds below 30 mph.
