The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened an investigation into 26 owner complaints that the exterior lights on their Volkswagen Tiguan SUVs may stop working.
Several owners report an overheated and melted 30-amp fuse in the engine compartment. The issue affects headlights, brake lights and/or turn signals. The complaints suggest the problem worsens over time, according to NHTSA.
The probe covers about 61,000 Tiguans made during the 2009-2011 model years.
