Next year’s Tokyo auto show from Oct. 27 to Nov. 5 hopes to reverse a 10% drop in attendance with unspecified new features, according to its organizer, the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Assn.
Held every other year, the event is known for bizarre concept cars and relatively low participation by foreign brands, which account for roughly 7% of the Japanese car market. The show will include commercial vehicles, motorcycles, aftermarket parts, machinery and automotive-related services.
Next year’s 10-day show will return to Tokyo’s Big Sight facility. Public days will be preceded by media days on Oct. 25-26 and a special ticketed preview day on Oct. 27.
