Next-Gen 911 to Get L.A. Reveal

Porsche AG will take the wraps off its redesigned 911 sports car late next month at the Los Angeles auto show.

The 2020 model will be launched next summer, starting with coupe versions of the 911 Carrera S and 4S. These will be followed shortly thereafter by convertible variants and the 911 Turbo.

GTS, GT3 and Targa 911 models are due in 2020. A plug-in hybrid 911 is expected sometime later.

Spy photos of the eighth-generation 911, which is codenamed the 992, shows that the car maintains the same iconic profile shared by previous 911s. The new car will be slightly wider than the current model and sport a thin rear LED light bar.
