Volkswagen AG's Skoda unit has released images of its new VisionS concept, which will be publicly unveiled next month at the Geneva auto show.

The concept previews an upcoming crossover/SUV as Skoda aims to broaden its offerings in the segment. The production version, tentatively called the Kodiak, could be introduced this autumn at the Paris auto show and go on sale in Europe early next year.

Riding on VW’s MQB platform, the three-row VisionS is 185 inches long, 75 inches wide and 66 inches tall. This makes it longer, wider and lower than the Hyundai Santa Fe/Kia Sorrento twins with which it will compete.

Design cues include a prominent grille, raked headlights, long hood and pronounced wheel arches. Power options will include range of small gasoline and diesel engines, and a diesel-electric hybrid variant is rumored.
