Ford Otosan's €400 million factory in Yenikoy, Turkey, will expand the venture's ability to supply foreign markets, the Financial Times reports.
The facility has capacity to make 110,000 Ford Tourneo Courier small commercial vehicles and Transit Courier people movers annually.
FT says Ford Otosan a venture between Ford Motor Co. and Koc Holding AS already contributes about 25% of Turkey's automotive production, more than half its commercial vehicle output and nearly two-thirds of its commercial vehicle exports.
Ford said earlier the new plant will supply vehicles to about 46 countries. The plant, adjacent to Ford Otosan's Kocaeli assembly complex, is the partnership's third assembly plant in the country.
