Nissan Motor Co. will take the wraps off a new version of its 2020 Vision Gran Turismo concept car later this month at the Tokyo auto show.

The carmaker co-developed the sports coupe with Polyphony Digital, the creators of the Playstation Gran Turismo racing simulator that features a digital version of the car.

The latest concept gets a vivid "fire knight" red paint job. It also features Nissan's bolder "V-motion" grille treatment that the carmaker has begun using in new production models.

Industry watchers expect the next-generation GT-R supercar to include slightly subdued design aspects of the concept Gran Turismo concept car. Previous reports suggest the new GT-R, which is due late this decade, will be a hybrid-electric vehicle with a twin-turbocharged V-6 engine.
