Jaguar Land Rover has released images of its 2017 F-Type SVR sports car, which is the first series-production model developed by the carmaker's special vehicles operations.

Available in coupe and convertible variants, the special-edition car will be lighter, faster, and more powerful than the base F-Type, according to Jaguar.

Power is expected to come from a supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 engine that generates 567 hp and 526 lb-ft. of torque. Media reports say the vehicle will have a 0-60 mph time of 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 200 mph.

Styling tweaks include a revised front fascia with large air intakes, an air diffuser built into the rear bumper and an active rear spoiler made of carbon fiber. The F-Type SVR also gets 20-inch forged aluminum wheels and Pirelli P Zero tires.

The car will be publicly unveiled at the Geneva auto show in March. Sales are due to begin this summer.
