Last week General Motors Co. confirmed plans to add a new top-of-the-line Cadillac sedan late next year. Now it has dropped the other shoe by announcing the model will be called the CT6.
The nomenclature signals a new naming system for future Cadillacs. All cars will be named CT, followed by a number indicating their size and rank in the brand's lineup. GM says it will roll out the new system as new models are introduced or existing models are redesigned.
GM promises that lightweight materials, new body construction techniques and a unique architecture will make the CT6 the "lightest and most agile" car in the large luxury sedan category.
