Mitsubishi Motors Corp. will continue to suspend operations at its Mizushima minivehicle factory in Japan through the end of June, sources tell The Japan Times.
MMC idled the factory in late April after revealing it had manipulated fuel economy figures for four of the plant’s minivehicles, including two that are branded as Nissan models. The shutdown has idled about 1,300 employees.
MMC must file for a government fuel economy certification again to restart the plant, The Japan Times notes.
