Mitsubishi May Partner with Nissan on Sedan
Mitsubishi Motors Corp. is in talks with Nissan Motor Corp. about co-developing a D-segment sedan MMC could sell in the U.S., a source tells Automotive News Europe.
Mitsubishi Motors Corp. is in talks with Nissan Motor Corp. about co-developing a D-segment sedan MMC could sell in the U.S., a source tells Automotive News Europe. The car would replace MCC's discontinued Galant model.
Last month Mitsubishi cancelled plans to develop a midsize sedan with Renault SA, citing unfavorable exchange rates. That car was to be supplied from Renault's venture in South Korea.
MMC tells ANE the company is still trying to develop a successor to the company's subcompact Lancer car for sale in the U.S. and several other markets. A Nissan source tells the newspaper the Lancer replacement could be produced in Japan or North America.
