BMW AG's Mini city car unit confirms it will phase out three slow-selling two-seaters: the Paceman crossover, Coupe and Roadster models.
Mini President Peter Schwarzenbauer outlined plans to trim its eight-model lineup last November by announcing the brand would focus on five "superhero" models. Four of them are the original three-door hatch, plus a five-door hatch, the redesigned Clubman four-door wagon and Countryman four-door crossover.
Schwarzenbauer says no final decision has been made on the fifth member of the future lineup. But he tells reporters an "extremely interesting" candidate is the Superleggera, a two-seat sports car Mini unveiled in concept form last autumn.
