BMW AG has named Thomas Felbermair to take over as head of its Mini brand in the Americas on May 1.
He succeeds David Duncan, who has been vice president of Mini in the Americas since 2014. Duncan joined Mini in 2001 and set up the first Mini dealer network in the U.S. His new assignment is head of corporate and special sales for BMW Group.
Felbermair joined Mini last year after stints at Audi Lamborghini and Porsche. He most recently headed sales, service and business operations for Mini in Europe. He will have a similar mission in the Americas, where Mini is updating its product line.
