Michigan Auto Guru Francis Joins American Axle

Nigel Francis, who has served as the top auto industry advisor to Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder over the past year, has been named vice president of corporate planning at Detroit-based American Axle & Manufacturing Inc.

Francis, who has nearly three decades of experience in the global auto industry, will help AAM expand operations overseas.

He holds a bachelor of science degree from Brunel University in London. His past assignments in the automotive sector included head of advanced engineering for Tata Technologies, chief technology officer for advanced mobility developer Trexa, executive vice president at Bright Automotive and vice president of vehicle engineering at MBtech North America.
