Mexico exported 228,800 vehicles in April, the Mexican Auto Industry Assn. reports. Production for the period rose 3% to 278,200 vehicles.
The trade group says shipments to the U.S. rose almost 20% to 180,000 units, or 79% of total exports, last month.
Mexico’s vehicle shipments to other markets in January-April 2017 reached 979,000 units, up 15% from the same four-month period last year.
