Mercedes Posts its Best Monthly Sales Ever

Mercedes-Benz sold 183,500 vehicles in March, the highest volume for any month in the brand's history. Year-on-year results jumped 16%.

The Daimler AG brand's volume in the first quarter of 2015 grew 15% to a record 429,600 units.

Mercedes posted record March sales in Europe, where demand climbed 16% to 89,000 units. Deliveries in China last month grew 20% to a record 30,100. Sales in the U.S. rose 9% to a record 29,900 vehicles.

Results are being driven by a 58% increase in sales of C-Class compact sedans and wagons. Mercedes also reports strong demand for its larger E- and S-Class models.
