The latest collaboration between Daimler AG's Mercedes-AMG unit and boat maker Cigarette Racing Team LLC teams the just-launched 2016 Mercedes-AMG GT S with its maritime incarnation in the form of the Marauder GT S Concept.

Priced at $1.2 million, the high-performance Marauder GT S is Florida-based Cigarette Racing's fastest powerboat to date. It features a pair of Mercury Racing 1,550-hp V-8 engines that generate a top speed of more than 135 mph.

The 50-ft boat's lightweight construction saves 1,000 lbs. Modeled after the AMG GT S sports car, the Marauder GT S features a sculpted body, flowing lines and the same AMG yellow and black paint job used on the GT S sports car. High-end automotive systems also are a key part of the boat's interior, which gets Bluetooth phone capability, four high-resolution displays, advanced navigation and a top-end audio system.

The $130,000 Mercedes-AMG GT S is powered by a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8. The new powerplant produces 503 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque, allowing the car to zip from zero to 60 mph in less than 3.8 seconds.

Cigarette Racing has shown a Mercedes-inspired boat at the Miami boat show since 2007. Previous creations included the world's fastest electric boat and last year's Vision Gran Turismo model.
