Mercedes-Benz Sales Jump 13%

Daimler AG's Mercedes-Benz unit reports deliveries of 151,100 cars and crossover vehicles worldwide in May, up from 134,000 units in the same period last year.

Results were driven by record-high demand in Europe (+11% to 65,100 units), the U.S. (+11% to 29,600) and China (+20% to 27,600). Sales through the first five months of 2015 climbed 13% to 728,800 vehicles.

By segment, small-car deliveries surged 22% to 46,400 units, and SUV sales rose 19% to 41,200. Both were records for the month.
