McLaren Promotes Melville to Head Designer

McLaren Automotive Ltd. has promoted Robert Melville, 37, to chief designer, effective immediately. He reports to Design Director Frank Stephenson.

Melville joined the British supercar maker in 2009 as a senior designer. He has worked on the company's McLaren P1 supercar, 650S high-performance sports car and Sports Series due this spring.

Melville will lead the team that is creating the company's visual direction and emerging family look, according to the company.
