Mazda Motor Corp. intends to convert all its powertrains to hybrid or all-electric systems by the early 2030s, according to Kyodo News, which cites no sources.

Between now and then, the company has said gasoline, diesel and electric power systems will co-exist in its lineup.

Mazda currently offers only one hybrid model, a variant of its Mazda3 small sedan. The company’s first all-electric car, being developed with Toyota Motor Corp., is due in 2019.
