Mazda Recalls Sedans with Defective Tire Pressure Monitors
Mazda Motor Corp. is recalling 99,700 of its 2014-2015 model Mazda6 sedans in the U.S. to reprogram tire pressure monitoring systems that don't respond if all four tires slowly lose air.

Mazda Motor Corp. is recalling 99,700 of its 2014-2015 model Mazda6 sedans in the U.S. to reprogram tire pressure monitoring systems that don't respond if all four tires slowly lose air.
Federal safety standards require such systems to illuminate a low-pressure warning light within 20 minutes if the tire pressure in one or more tires falls 25% below the manufacturer's recommended cold-inflation pressure.
Mazda says its system correctly detects low pressure in one, two or three tires. But it doesn't respond if all four tires gradually lose air as all tires do over time.
Dealers will fix the problem by reprogramming TPMS software in each vehicle's dynamic stability control unit.
