Fiat SpA's Maserati unit tells Reuters the company expects to sell about 38,000 vehicles this year and affirms its goal to reach volume of 50,000 units in 2015.

The brand sold 15,400 cars worldwide last year. CEO Harold Wester expects demand will reach 50,000 units in 2015 after Maserati launches the Levante crossover vehicle.

Wester says Maserati is targeting annual Levante sales of at least 25,000 units by the end of 2016. He also affirms the brand's intent to cap its combined sales at 75,000 units. But Wester indicates he might permit volume to surpass that target.
