Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. expects its sales to grow by double digits in the fiscal year that begins April 1. The company predicts India’s overall passenger vehicle market will expand 5%-10%.

New models will drive the increase, CEO Kenichi Ayukawa tells reporters in New Delhi. He says new taxes on diesels have not impacted sales to date but concedes the long-term impact is unclear.

Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest carmaker, increased sales in the first 10 months of the current fiscal year 10% to 1.30 million units.
