German prosecutors are probing allegations that MAN SE's former CEO Hakan Samuelsson and ex-CFO Karlheinz Hornung aided and abetted a bribery scheme involving deals in Slovenia.

Both men have denied wrongdoing.

The Munich-based truckmaker, now a subsidiary of Volkswagen AG, agreed in 2009 to pay €151 million in fines to settle claims that its truck and turbo units paid bribes between 2002-2009. Samuelsson and Hakan resigned. Several other managers were indicted.

Prosecutors say the investigation of Samuelsson and Hornung was triggered by testimony last month at the trial of MAN's former European truck chief. The company's ex-audit chief stated that the two top executives knew about "possible corrupt practices" involving deals in Slovenia.
