Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., which began selling its e20 electric hatchback last month, says it is developing a new EV platform that will carry larger, higher-powered models.

Mahindra auto chief Pawan Goenka tells reporters that the company's SsangYong unit in South Korea also might use the new architecture.

Within a year Mahindra plans to launch three new EVs that will ride on the current platform: versions of the Gio and Maxximo small commercial trucks and the Verito small sedan. The latter is a Mahindra-badged version of the low-cost Logan made by Renault SA's Dacia unit.
