Deliveries of new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia climbed 6% to 157,400 units in September, according to the Moscow-based Assn. of European Businesses.

Deliveries of new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia climbed 6% to 157,400 units in September, according to the Moscow-based Assn. of European Businesses. Sales through the first nine months of 2018 rose 15% to 1.30 million vehicles.

Last month’s gains were led by Lada (+10% to 31,200 cars), Hyundai (+1% to 16,100), Kia (+1% to 18,900) Toyota (+48% to 11,200), Hyundai  and Volkswagen (+16% to 10,000). Sales plunged 18% to 10,400 for Renault.

AEB has increased its full-year growth forecast to 13% and more than 1.8 million units. AEB predicted in March that sales in 2018 would rise 10% to 1.75 million vehicles.
