Lear Corp. says it has acquired a minority interest in Tempronics Inc. and exclusive rights to the Tucson, Ariz.-based company’s thermoelectric heating and cooling technology for car seat applications. Financial terms weren’t disclosed.

The Tempronics technology heats and cools seats faster and uses less energy than other automotive systems, according to Lear. Tempronics also supplies heating and cooling systems for the office and home furniture and medical industries.
